Oh okay, if that helps.
You and Blue walk closer to the shore's edge where your feet are submerged in the senseless water rushing rhythmically, the sand here has a weird texture to it, mushy, it's not bothersome, just something to get adjusted to.
You lean over and cup some water into your hands, it feels lukewarm, and you have to learn how to hold it properly. So you try multiple times to cup the water efficiently to be able to transport it. But it keeps slipping away, back to the source. It gets easier the more you try, but still difficult to not spill much.
You turn to where blue is, a few steps away, holding some water cupped into your hands. But they're looking away (distracted) down into the water where some fishies are.
You only just noticed that these were here. And you look down into the water you hold, there's a little dark guppy in it swimming joyfully in various orientations, which tickles.
You pretty much forgot what you were doing.
Hey look I got one!
Blue hears you and turns, seeing you holding the water, it's dripping down in drops periodically through the bottom of your cupped hands.. They walk over, poking their finger into the water with the guppy, and it swims around it.
Oh sweet, it's so cute!!
They take their finger out, and the guppy splashes toward them a little
And it likes me!
(Oh)
Oh I just remembered-
You kneel down to release the guppy into a patch of more guppies in the water, contributing to the guppy hoard.
Then you carefully cup some more water without one, lifting it up and over to the top of Blue's head, attempting to release it. Blue closes their eyes before little streams flow down their face and leave damp spots on the cloak they're wearing.
Did it work?
No it didn't actually do much.. huh
Blue opens their eyes
Huh, I thought that fixed it for a second.
...I've got a wet head now.
Haha
I feel cold now...
And you look down at it, then back to them, the bottom of their cloak is very darkened...
Oh, your..
...feels cold and damp.
My..? Oh my blanket, oh yeah I-It's fine
It'll dry out?
Yeah, no biggie.
They rub their face with a dry part of their cloak near where their hand is holding the front ends, squinting and going over both eyes.
Honestly you seem like you have a lot on your mind;
I know you want to help but,
Whatever's got you down,
Whatever you're worried about...
You're not going through it alone...
...
They pause and you sigh
Tomorrow's Sunday, we're going to the beach,
With Mom, Father, _____
And Grandmom, maybe
...We love the beach, can't stop thinking about it, we go there every Sunday...
Blue walks closer to you. They let their hands go of the ends that hold the cloak closed around them, reaching their arms out.
They hug you, it's a little cold.... their words begin to sound like they're tearing up. You hug back, you've never felt this seen before...
But I think what we need right now is rest. That's why we're in our room.
So let's just chill on the beach for a bit, instead of thinking about other things, okay?
It hurts...
...
...Okay...
